Emera Utility Services (EUS) is the largest utility services contractor in Atlantic Canada, delivering a full range of services in engineering, communications, power distribution and power transmission. We offer a positive work environment and significant growth opportunities. Our Communications division has an immediate opening for an experienced Installation and Repair Technician. This is a full time position. We offer a competitive salary starting at $17.44/hour (as per the IBEW collective agreement)
Our technician’s perform a range of duties for our clients including installation of telephone and cable services as well as troubleshooting issues.
As the successful candidate, you offer Emera Utility Services:
- Minimum Grade 12 education.
- One year experience in the communications industry and training from a recognized Electronics program.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Candidates with exceptional work ethic, an aptitude for electronics and great customer service skills are encouraged to apply.
- 2 years in a post-secondary institution with a focus on telecommunications system would be an asset.
- Preference will be given to candidates that are bilingual in French and English.
You must be available to work rotating shifts including evenings, weekends, holidays and after-hours emergency.
The successful applicant will be required to submit a satisfactory driver’s abstract and criminal records check. This position is considered a safety sensitive position. As such, the successful candidate must comply with the Emera Alcohol and Drug Policy which requires a confidential pre-employment alcohol and drug test in accordance with the Emera Alcohol and Drug Procedure.
You will be responsible for personal safety and that of co-workers by observing all occupational Health and Safety rules and Regulations.
