Lead analytical development activities from discovery to validation and transfer. Apply scientific/technical expertise to address complex R&D issues. Organize and prioritize analytical tasks among the analytical team and provide functional leadership. Contribute to Elanco R&D strategies and goals and participate in cross-functional teams.

• Plan, lead, assign and execute projects and/or tasks to the analytical team members and establish target dates and priorities. Interpret results, evaluate data and draw relevant conclusions.
• Report and present scientific/technical results internally, may create external publications and patents and may present at scientific conferences or congresses. Write or support the generation of international registration documents. Interact with authorities where appropriate.
• Contribute to the optimization of project related scientific/technical activities and processes within function. Keeps abreast of scientific developments and identifies leading edge technologies that adds customer value
• Act as a cross-functional team member and/or lead local/international multi-disciplinary project/SME team.
• Evaluate new scientific technologies, platforms and procedures. May participate in the evaluation of in licensing opportunities or due diligence.
• Ensure the compliance with external and internal guidelines (e.g. SOPs, GxP, HSE, and AW).

Basic Qualifications

1. More than 10 years industry experience (for BSc) Minimum 5 years (for MS), or entry level for PhD.

2. Successfully demonstrated expertise in development of biological assays including formulation and potency release tests.

3. Experience in development and validation of ELISA based assays. Good presentation skills and scientific/technical writing skills.

4. Strong scientific leadership skills and people management skills.

English fluent spoken and written essential, additional language desirable.

Additional Skills/Preferences

• Meets agreed upon timelines for tasks, assignments, and/or objectives.
• Timely, regular and accurate update of projects to management and/or related databases and tools.
• Compliance with quality systems and standards (e.g. no major findings at internal or external audits)
• Support TD manager in Performance evaluations, settings and development planning according to guidelines.
