Position Summary
The HR Assistant has responsibility for supporting the Human Resources Coordinator with the HR and other administrative functions of the Network. This includes HR plans, job descriptions, recruitment and retention, performance review systems, and employee education and training.
The Human Resources Assistant will report to the Human Resources Coordinator.
Key Responsibilities Assists with maintaining and updating information in the HR database Arranges and prepares background information for annual employment development plans for all employees Assists with benefit enrolment of employees Prepares an orientation schedule for all new employees and assists with organizing educational sessions Assists in the full employee life cycle process including assisting with job postings, pre-screening resumes, setting up interviews and on-boarding of new employees Maintains accurate, up-to-date HR filing system and personnel records Membership administration
Competencies & Behaviors Grade twelve (12) education, post-secondary administrative or human resources education preferred. Three (3) years related administrative/human resources experience or equivalent. Preference given to those with healthcare experience. Experience using ADP (HRIS) is an asset Exceptional computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook Excellent interpersonal and public relations skills Maintain high level of confidentiality Strong organizational and time management skills Ability to act responsibly and be accountable for actions Ability to work on own initiative and to prioritize workload Ability to respect others views/opinions Ability to develop new skills and apply theory to practice To support the vision and mission of the Primary Care Network Understand Alberta’s privacy laws and act according to these laws Behaves responsibly at all times, is accountable for their actions and has excellent written and verbal skills, problem solving/critical thinking skills
