Position Title: Senior Business Analyst

Site Location: Regina SK S4P 1C4

Duration: Contract Work – 24 months

Salary: CSD 105,000

  • Overtime rate of CSD 160 starts after 40 hours of work per week

Language of Work: English

Job Duties:

  • Act as liaison between co-operators IT team and Ebix TPP dedicated offshore team to prioritize and complete scope for various as defined in SOW#012, in support of business team’s annually defined initiatives
  • Provide TPP application Subject Matter Expertise – both functional and technical
  • Conduct knowledge transfer through documentation, training
  • Defect Triage, Analysis and Consultation
  • Analyze Requirements Documents, refine the data provided, and drive requirements meeting in conjunction with co-operators IT and PMO personnel
  • Facilitates discussions for client to provide required information
  • Understand the scope and highlights in the case of any scope creep during next set of elaboration sessions, and work with Ebix Project Manager to estimate impacts
  • Provide specific requirements that need to be discussed, thereby ensuring traceability between scope document and meeting discussion and outputs
  • Work with System Analyst (SA) for system integrations and solutions
  • Evaluates options and approach to projects and provides business solutions
  • Creates and updates all approach documents and process flows
  • Creates the Metadata templates and Field Matrix for configuring product upgrades
  • Creates and updates meeting agendas
  • Act as point of contact for any product related queries
  • Defect triage/analysis for tickets raised by co-operators testing team
  • Initial analysis of the incidents/defects on production environment

Extended Activities

  • Meeting facilitation, minutes distribution
  • Liaison between Development and Quality teams as required
  • Ensure traceability and scope management

  • Follow-up on action items

Minimum Education Required: Masters in Business Administration or equivalent degree

Minimum Experience/Skills Requirements of the job:

  • More than 10 years of experience in Information Technology, Business Analysis, Systems Integration and Insurance Systems Implementations
  • Excellent Insurance Domain knowledge, coupled with strong Insurance software product knowledge
  • Strong knowledge of Insurance Electronic Application process
  • Knowledge on System Integrations required for insurance application and straight through processing and engaging with required vendors
    • MIB ( Medical Information Bureau), Labs/Paramedical Services
    • Policy Admin and Underwriting Engine
    • Premium Calculation/Quote Engine
    • E-Signature Process
    • Familiarity with ACCORD standards
  • Excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, problem solving and decision making skills; verbal and written communication skills; interpersonal and negotiation skills
  • Experience on Bug triage and Change Management processes
  • Exposure to Quality Assurance and Testing
  • Experience in structure methodologies for the identification of users’ requirements and the development of specifications
  • Experience in the use of case tools to document conceptual requirements and scope
  • Demonstrated success working with external clients to understand and gather requirements
  • Demonstrated success working with project teams to meet expectations
  • Demonstrated ability to work with limited direction, establish priorities, and meet strict deadlines in dynamic team environment
  • Demonstrated ability to quickly grasp new ideas and solutions, and communicate effectively with colleagues and end users
  • Lead and manage projects, committees, and teams to identify opportunities, solutions and action plans
