Coordinate the Hotel’s wellness initiatives, including the Wellness Committee and internal and external events….

Ensures compliance with established health & safety procedures in accordance with the Occupational Health & Safety Act is adhered to at all times with the ongoing objective of reducing the risk of injury. Administers the non-union benefit and retirement program. Manages the return to work program. Provides backup for the HR Generalist.

Investigate all workplace injuries and implement necessary changes in an attempt to prevent further accidents based on accident statistics
·
Provide regular WHMIS, Fire, and Health and Safety training to ensure employee safety
·
Attend and Co-Chair all monthly Health & Safety Meetings as well as manage monthly action plans.
·
Maintain the Health & Safety communication board with relevant information and meeting minute updates
·
Administer the return to work program for workers assigned to modified work duties
Key Result Areas

Business
·

Manage disability claims including STD, WSIB, accommodation and return to work processes, while effectively liaising with all stakeholders.
·
Ensure all reporting obligations are complied with, completing and submitting all required paperwork to the WSIB and MOL in a timely fashion.
·
Assist in managing the Attendance Support policy, and provide guidance to departmental managers.
·
Participate in the Workplace Safety and Prevention Services Safety Group Program, creating and maintaining health and safety elements throughout the Hotel.
Customer Satisfaction
·

Create and maintain return to work programs for injured employees, ensuring suitability and follow up.
·
Manage benefits administration for both union and non-union employees and communicate appropriate changes.
·
Administer the Hotel’s Pension and RRSP program.
·
Coordinate the retirement process in conjunction with department managers and the Assistant Director, Human Resources.
·
Manage gym Fitness program for employees, including promotion, enrolment and cancellations.
·
Oversee the Hotel’s Employee Assistance Program through Aspiria.
·
Coordinate the Hotel’s wellness initiatives, including the Wellness Committee and internal and external events.
·
Produce bi-monthly Health & Wellness newsletter.
Process Improvement/ Productivity
·

Ensure all areas of the Hotel have been inspected on a yearly basis by scheduling and monitoring inspection a part of the Hotel in each month.
·
To assist with all other Human Resources functions as needed.
Requirement
.
Working Experience
·

Minimum of 4 years previous administrative experience, preferably in Human Resources; experience within a union environment is an asset .

Knowledge
·

Demonstrate knowledge and experience in health & safety matters. Previous Hospitality experience is a definite asset.
·
Ability to co-ordinate and manage multiple priorities, excellent investigation and follow up skills.
·
Excellent knowledge in computer software programs including HRIS and Microsoft office.
Education
·

Post-secondary education in Hospitality management or Human Resources is preferred.
·
Certification in the Occupational Health & Safety Act through OSSA is an asset.
