Eagle is currently seeking a Senior Technical Business Analyst (Data Virtualization/Modelling) for a six (6) month contract opportunity, scheduled to begin immediately.
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
Interpreting customer and business needs and translate them into technical and operational requirements;
Understanding Informatica Data quality rules, using authoring or scripting languages relevant to the Informatica tool set;
Writing, designing, or editing technical rules within Informatica Data quality tool;
Understanding Informatica data quality rule updates and assist business analysts with data profiling;
Identifying problems uncovered by testing or customer feedback and correct problems;
Evaluating code to ensure it is valid, meets business rule standards;
Conferring with business teams to analyze data profiling results, prioritize data cleansing needs, resolve conflicts, develop scripts to assist business users in cleaning up data;
Working closely with business partners to support application lifecycle from development through implementation; and,
Performing or validating test routines and schedules to ensure that test cases mimic external interfaces.
Skills and Qualifications
The qualified candidate must have:
A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or equivalent training required;
Five (5) to seven (7) years related experience;
Understanding of data virtualization and data modelling practices;
Oil and Gas experience and have knowledge of various Oil and Gas application Data (PVR, Wellcore, EC, PI, PAS, Landman, and SAP);
Knowledge of circuit boards, processors, electronic equipment, and computer hardware and software;
Knowledge of design techniques and principals involved in production of drawings and models;
Knowledge of computer software, such as Adobe, Java, SQL, ETL, Informatica Data Quality, etc.;
Experience managing data within Field Data capture Applications such as PVR, Energy Components and PI Data Historian. SAP Asset Management and Risk Based Inspection;
Exposure to Relational Database Management Systems such as Oracle and SQL Server;
Exposure to integration/QC/middleware applications such as OpenSpirit, QCPro and DataFlux;
Knowledge of various E&P data types and models (well header, well logs, production, drilling and completion, seismic, culture, etc.) Public Petroleum Data Model (PPDM), Finder, etc.;
Exposure to E&P data exchange standards and file formats (LAS, IHS 297 and 298 files, etc.);
A clear understanding of the architecture standards, a high-level understanding of the business, and a deep understanding of respective domain architectures (business, information, application, technology);
The ability to work independently and manage time;
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, problem solving skills, customer service, and interpersonal skills;
Basic mentoring skills necessary to provide support and constructive performance feedback; and,
Knowledge of Spatial Data Management and Geographic Information Systems (GIS) would be an asset.
