Eagle is currently seeking a Technical Lead for a six (6) month contract opportunity, scheduled to begin in August.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:
Routinely advising programmers on coding, design, and testing/debugging standards;

Understanding and helping refine un-stated requirements;

Routinely dealing with and resolving difficult technical issues;

Aiding in the development of architectural framework and design;

Being responsible for the quality of deliverables;

Evaluating and introducing new tools and techniques to the development team;

Managing technical issues and the work of other developers;

Acting as liaison with various groups including architecture, vendors, and other project teams;

Assuming technical leadership role on projects;

Exercising leadership through superior technical and domain knowledge;

Conducting regular code reviews;

Proactively identifying areas for improvement, seeking solutions and making recommendations;

Leading initiatives and acts as a change agent (embraces change and helps other to embrace it);

Fostering a spirit of creative collaboration by giving team members a common focus; and,

Providing mentorship to development team.

Skills and Qualifications

The qualified candidate must have:
Post secondary degree or technical diploma in computer science or related field;

Minimum seven (7) years of progressive experience in software development;

Extensive experience with design patterns;

Working experience with various development languages (primarily C#, Java, and related technologies);

Working experience with agile software practices, including TDD/D and refactoring;

Working experience of modeling techniques, including OOA/D and UML;

Working experience of JavaScript, HTML, XML, web services SOA, and REST;

Working experience in Database Technologies (SQL Server / Oracle);

Excellent communication skills both written and verbal;

Strong negotiation skills;

Strong conflict resolution skills;

Strong software development skills;

Knowledge of the telecommunications industry is an asset; and,

Knowledge of the wireless or WiFi is an asset.
