Eagle is currently seeking a Data Analyst for a six (6) month contract opportunity, scheduled to begin immediately.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:
Gaining a detailed understanding of the client’s systems and interactions from the standpoints of architecture, design, technology, processes, and constraints;

Understanding business problems in order to develop creative, innovative and practical solutions to deliver high quality services to the business;

Becoming a key member of the Integration Practice by working cooperatively within the team and collaboratively with associated teams. They will gain expertise and learn from the team, and will share their own knowledge and expertise accordingly;

Working with BA’s to understand Business Requirements;

Translating Business Requirements into detailed system/data behavior requirements;

Creating data triggers and sourcing queries from systems/DB’s in PL/SQL, XQuery, etc.;

Creating Data Mapping Requirement Workbook mapping from source system to target(s);

Creating/defining XML Message Schemas (XSD) and provides mappings into XML structures;

Creating Automated Unit Tests for coverage over mapping requirements;

Supporting Development team through implementation of Integration;

Having a clear understanding of the client’s policies and standards, become an advocate and defender of such standards, and provide feedback to the Center of Excellence to evolve in the spirit of continual improvement.

Skills and Qualifications

The qualified candidate must have:
A Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related area of expertise;

A minimum of five (5) years in an IT/Software Engineering role preferably with the last two (2) of those immersed in Data Integration-specific development;

Proven experience and success in one or more significant Systems Integration projects using data-related middleware and database technologies;

Experience as a key member of implementation teams through full project life cycle, design, development, delivery, support, and maintenance;

Strong knowledge of EAI, process design/modeling (e.g. Visio, Provision), implementation concepts, and industry/technology trends;

Capability of working in a fast-paced team-oriented environment with minimal supervision;

Great communication (written and verbal), organizational, and troubleshooting skills;

The ability to build trust and credibility by consistently adhering to the organization’s business principles and values. Is seen as direct, truthful, and trustworthy by co-workers, vendors, and customers;

Commitment to results by taking personal responsibility for achieving mutually agreed upon individual/team objectives wearing multiple hats as required;

A desire to help and serve internal/external customers to meet their needs. Is proactive, responsive, and focused on discovering, anticipating, and exceeding the customer’s needs;

The ability to work collaboratively and cooperatively with others to achieve shared goals and objectives. Considers the wider team, function, banner or the organization and takes action or makes decisions which support the success of those groups; and,

The ability to recover quickly after change, disruptions, or mistakes and can remain productive and focused. Is adaptable and can apply lessons learned in one situation to another situation.

The following skills are considered desirable:
Database Programming: PL/SQL, DDL, DML, DCL, TCL;

Database (application-side): Oracle/SQL Server, JDBC/ODBC;

XML Programming: XML, XSL, XSLT, XPATH, XSD;

Change Data Capture, Data Replication, Data Quality, Data Transformation;

Experience of IBM InfoSphere DataStage, Informatica, or other data-related technology considered an asset;

Experience of CVS/GIT and Continuous Integration would be an asset;

Technical Architecture experience an asset; and,

Retail experience/knowledge would be an asset.
