The Role

The Coordinator, Program Marketing and Recruitment is responsible for the following two areas of work:

1. Coordinating participant recruiting initiatives for Training Group (TG) programs and implementing strategies to support program outcomes. Additional responsibilities include supporting program recruitment through intake screening, career assessment, job development, and work search support as well as tracking and reporting of participant progress as they progress through Training Group programs.

2. Developing marketing strategies for Training Group programs as well as initiating, developing, and sourcing appropriate marketing resources. The position coordinates marketing initiatives with CCSPs and program staff to ensure that marketing plans and outcomes are realized.

Responsibilities

The Coordinator will work closely with the CCSP and all stakeholders to ensure the successful delivery of all facets of the program as outlined below:

Participant recruitment and program marketing:
  • Collaborate with TG program teams to coordinate the marketing initiatives of programs to reach enrollment targets.
  • Coordinate and develop marketing collateral with program teams to support program recruiting.
  • Liaise with various college programs and departments, service providers, government departments, employment resource centres, case managers, local community groups, educational institutes and other stakeholders whose clients’ students and audience groups are a fit for TG programs.
  • Conduct information sessions and assessments of prospective applicants.
Department Marketing:
  • Liaise with the College’s Marketing and Communications Office (MCO) to ensure that Training Group marketing is in keeping with the Douglas College brand.
  • Identify TG marketing gaps and opportunities and present solutions and initiatives to management team. Coordinate and implement marketing plans and strategies as directed.
  • Ensure marketing strategies are in alignment with both the Douglas College and TG strategic plans.
  • Monitor the TG website and identify and implement required adjustments to the content and layout.
  • Provide content and regularly update Training Group pages on DC Connect.
Job Development:
  • Develop relationships with employers to identify employment opportunities for participants of TG programs. Track and maintain employer contacts in spreadsheets and the new TG database as required.
  • Coordinate the job development activities of TG Job Developers from assigned program areas including the tracking, collaboration and sharing of employer contact information and leading quarterly Job Developer meetings.
  • Support CCSPs in launching the new TG database.
  • Support TG programs as directed with one-on-one job development and work experience placement for participants.
Participant Intake and Career Assessment:
  • Conduct client screening, intake, and assessment for TG programs.
  • Determine career development activities using informal means (interviews, assigned information meetings and research) as well as formal assessments when needed such as English language proficiency, academic qualifications, technical skills, Essential Skills, career management skills.
  • Work with clients to develop an action plan that will help lead them to appropriate training and future employment.
Client Support / Career Consulting:
  • Coach and mentor participants throughout the program in overcoming identified barriers to employment.
  • Track and monitor participants through the program providing supports as required.
Reporting, Tracking and Teamwork Activities:
  • Keep detailed records of all participants as required by TG, Douglas College and the Funders. Provide statistics and reports as required.
  • Consistently review client outcomes against performance targets, contributing strategies to ensure program targets are met.
Administration:
  • Ensure project funds and participant supports expended are approved and tracked.
Team Responsibilities:
  • Participate in regular team and TG meetings, strategic planning and program review sessions as scheduled.
  • Support the TG management team with identifying program delivery opportunities.
  • Support the development and submission of TG program proposals as directed, including securing employer engagement and support letters and other industry contributions.

Quality Assurance:
Work to TG’s Quality Management System, ISO9001:2015 standard.

Other Duties:
Perform Miscellaneous Duties As Required.

To Be Successful in this Role You Will Need
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education, training, employment and career counselling, vocational counselling certifications;
  • Marketing background with Marketing certificate achieved;
  • 3 years minimum experience delivering work search and career development services;
  • Current local labour market knowledge across a range of industry sectors;
  • Strong oral and written communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Proven ability to successfully work within a multi-faceted program, and meet targets and deadlines;
  • Excellent computer skills and ability to assist participants in Internet use for career and electronic job search activities;
  • Ability to calmly handle changing circumstances;
  • Ability to adjust to a flexible schedule;
  • Knowledge of Essential Skills considered an asset;
  • Willingness to travel within the Lower Mainland and reliable transportation an asset.
