The Opportunity

Are you a highly driven and creative sales professional with a history of success in all you do? Do you have a passion for events and the opportunities they provide our customers to drive their success through connections?

We are currently seeking an experienced contractor to join our team on a project basis, as an Account Manager to connect with and get our customers excited about participating in our Atlantic Canada Petroleum Show (ACPS). We are seeking a true “hunter”, that is able to identify and act on opportunities in the industry we operate to drive growth.

The Account Manager will be responsible for selling exhibition space, sponsorship, and advertising (digital and print) opportunities for ACPS.

Responsibilities

Reporting to the Sales Manager, the Account Manager will be responsible for, but not limited to:

- Researching potential new clients using various resources.

- Soliciting new clients to exhibit at ACPS.

- Consultatively sell effective event, advertising and sponsorship solutions to new and existing clients.

- Promoting and actively cross-selling into events within the dmg portfolio.

- Visiting related exhibitions in order to make contact with potential dmg clients.

- Creating strong relationships through having face-to-face meetings with existing clients in order to identify future opportunities.

- Working to achieve industry appropriate mix of clients whose products, services and technology are being displayed at each event.

- Allocating exhibition space and prioritizing the placement of clients – including renewals – based on their specific needs and featured products and services, as well as featured venues.

- Preparing and submitting all contracts and/or supporting paperwork to dmg’s Sales Coordinator in a timely manner.

- Communicating all sales activity and forecasts on a weekly basis to the Sales Manager and/or Event Director.

- Actively participating in regular weekly sales meetings hosted by the Sales Manager.

- Participating in outside events that will promote the company as a critical member of the industry and community, such as networking events, breakfast clubs, and industry events.

- Assisting in the coordination of move-in/move-out, the development of show features, and providing on-site floor management.

Candidate Profile

As an ideal candidate your background will include:

- 3+ years of experience in B2B sales, preferably within events, advertising or marketing.

- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.

- Strong aptitude for customer service.

- Willingness to contribute to the marketing, operations and buildup of the show.

- Strong working knowledge of Word, Excel, and PowerPoint and the internet.

- Knowledge of the Oil and Gas sector and tradeshow exhibit coordination is considered an asset.
