POSITION: Coordinator (Maternity Leave contract)

PROGRAM: Newcomer Youth Community Engagement (NYCE)

REPORTS TO: Manager, Welcoming Communities

WORK HOURS: 32 hours per week (5 days per week, 11:30 am to 8:00 pm)

RATE OF PAY: $27.00 per hour

The NYCE Coordinator provides assistance to the Program Manager in planning, delivering and monitoring the services provided to newcomer youth.

Coordinates monthly program planning.

Provides direct supervision to NYCE facilitators.

Collects, collates and summarizes various statistical data.

Assists the Program Manger in the analysis of trends and gaps in services and proposal development.

Prepares monthly reports ensuring accuracy and accountability.

Collects and arrangesfor translation of client surveys

Conducts eligibility screening and ensu res appropriate documentation.

Maintains communication with community partners and schedules/attends meetings as needed.

Assists the production and acquisition of informational materials.

Other duties as assigned

Post-secondary education and/or experience in the human services sector.

3-5 years of experience in a coordinator role.

Extensive knowledge of the social services and settlement services available to assist newcomers to Canada.

Ability to communicate with groups, representatives from the community, government and human services.

Good organizational skills, ability to multi-task while maintaining high level of accuracy in data collection.

Self-motivated, creative, and energetic.

Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office, Email and Internet.

Excellent Oral and written English communication skills and demonstrated judgement and discretion dealing with confidential and sensitive matters

Enthusiastic team player, with a demonstrated ability to work both collaboratively and independently

Leadership experience, strong organizational skills, attention to detail, with a demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks and juggle competing demands

Flexible in work hours, use of car an asset

Police check required

Certified in First Aid/ CPR

Must be a Canadian citizen or hold a permanent resident card
