The Ministry of Justice is responsible for providing a fair justice system that upholds the law and protects the rights of all individuals in Saskatchewan; promotes safe and secure communities; and provides legal and justice policy advice to assist government.
The Dispute Resolution Office, Ministry of Justice is seeking an individual to provide mediation, facilitation and other dispute resolution services out of the Regina Office to government ministries, agencies, and the general public. Reporting to the Assistant Director, the successful candidate will design and conduct conflict resolution processes to address public sector and organizational disputes; facilitate negotiations in civil litigation cases under section 42 of
The Queen’s Bench Act 1998;
and conduct mediations and facilitations in both family and non-family disputes.
You will draw upon your exemplary engagement, interpersonal and negotiation skills as you design and deliver conflict resolution and collaborative problem solving processes, workshops and seminars as well as provide technical advice regarding the design of appropriate dispute resolution processes either in relation to specific disputes or to amend policies, procedures, regulations or legislation.
The knowledge, skills and abilities required for this position would typically be acquired through the completion of a Dispute Resolution training program and a degree in law, social work, education, or administration or an equivalent combination of education and experience, combined with extensive practical experience in mediation and facilitation. The successful candidate will be required to travel and work flexible hours.
