The Day & Ross Transportation Group is currently seeking a full-time Payroll Administrator in Hartland, NB.

Please note: This position is tentatively scheduled for Monday to Friday, 8-5. Overtime may be necessary at peak financial times.

As a key member of the Finance Team, the Payroll Administrator will be responsible for the processing of the salary payroll, and various other payroll functions.

To be successful in this position, you will be able to exceptionally complete the following:

  • Input salary absence reports weekly.
  • Enter data into Payroll and Personnel systems for newly hired salaried employees.
  • Inputs and processes salaried payrolls for full-time employees.
  • Enter changes to employee data into systems, including pay rate changes, address changes, name changes, position changes, etc.
  • Sort cheques and vouchers.
  • Recognize and recommend opportunities for process improvements.
  • Balance salaried payroll on weekly basis.
  • Prepare Record of Employment forms for terminated employees. Calculate amount of outstanding vacation pay, pay in lieu of notice and severance pay.
  • Complete monthly reporting for Management purposes. i.e. vacation and absence reporting.
  • File payroll forms and related documents in personnel files.
  • Audit payroll time records on a regular basis.

To be qualified for this role, please ensure your resume clearly displays some or all of the following :

  • Post-secondary education in Business Administration or related field
  • Intermediate knowledge of MS Office and the ability to quickly learn new systems
  • Basic understanding of Payroll, Human Resources, Pension/Benefits, and Accounting
  • Maintain a high degree of confidentiality
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Previous experience in the Transportation industry
  • Familiarity to Federal Labour regulations
  • Working knowledge of HR systems

The working environment can include long periods of sitting at a desk and data imputing.
