The Day & Ross Transportation Group is currently seeking a full-time IT Support Technician in Hartland, NB.

IS Support Technician supports the maintenance and efficient utilization of the corporate communication and computer network systems by assisting employees in the use of relevant devices and applications by answering any questions that may arise. The focus is equal parts technology and customer service.

Please note: This position is tentatively scheduled for Monday to Friday, day time hours, flexibility required outside of these hours. On-call rotation, periodic – may be required.

To be successful in this role, you will exceptionally complete the following (not an exhaustive list of responsibilities):

  • Set up and maintain IS equipment including but not limited to; PCs, laptops, mobile phones, printers, etc.
  • Deploy and support software installs for applications
  • Diagnose, document and execute fixes for performance issues at the initial stage; escalate according to established protocols
  • Track and maintain IT inventory
  • Prioritize issues according to established protocols
  • Other related duties as may be required

To be qualified for this role, please ensure your resume clearly displays some or all of the following :

  • Minimum of secondary education
  • Post-secondary training in computer science, information technology or related field
  • A suitable combination of education and experience may be considered
  • Two years’ previous experience in information and communication technology is preferred
  • Strong communication skills including the ability to relay information (verbal and written) between several parties and deliver a positive customer experience
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize in a deadline driven environment; appropriate sense of urgency
  • Ability to work independently and to collaborate with others to meet customer expectations
  • Troubleshooting and problem solving skills; the ability to evaluate current situation, respond quickly to changing requirements, execute and escalate accordingly
  • Strong team and customer service focus; negotiation and conflict resolution skills
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships
  • English, other languages an asset

The working environment can include extended periods sitting in a work station working on a computer and on a phone.
