The Day & Ross Transportation Group is currently seeking a full-time Quality Specialist for our Freight division in Hartland, NB.

The purpose of this role is to analyze data, create and communicate accurate reporting, lead small projects and support the Lean and Engineering teams using a continuous improvement model establishing direction either alone or in conjunction with other team members towards doubling our business by 2016. Through analysis, supports the organization to determine gaps in our current state to support improved service performance, admin performance and customer experience. To create a high performing work environment that provides exceptional customer service (ETBW) and ensures revenue protection.

To be successful in this role, you will effectively complete the following (not an exhaustive list of responsibilities):

  • Be a recognized leader of quality and continuous improvement
  • Be an independent observer and a voice of the customer
  • Facilitate the quality conversation at all levels of the organization
  • Analyze service result, identify gaps and facilitate the creation of action plans for the root cause owner to action
  • Create effective metrics for continuous improvement behavior
  • Analyze administration work flows to determine gaps, errors, waste, re-work for improvement purposes
  • You will support investigations for root cause in Shipment Investigation Reports (SIR’s)
  • You will embrace tact and diplomacy with peers and employees to develop plans, provide and receive advice and meet common objectives.
  • Develop and provide reporting to support all initiatives, such as dashboards, weekly/monthly reporting
  • Provide analysis and support to the field when required

To be qualified for this role, please ensure your resume clearly displays some or all of the following :

  • Advanced communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Computer skills – accuracy, MS products, data and statistical analysis , exposure to Operations Management techniques is preferred
  • Superior time management skills
  • Manage multiple tasks with the ability to focus and work independently on projects with appropriate guidance
  • Team player focused
  • Results focused
  • Education – University or technical training with a focus on data analysis

Previous experience in similar roles with the transportation industry is considered an asset The working environment can include long periods of sitting at a desk and data imputing.
