The Software Quality Assurance Tester is responsible for conducting thorough testing and debugging software to ensure that quality standards are met and functionality is aligned with specifications. He or she will deliberately attempt to crash the program, testing to verify functionality, ease of use and reliability to meet performance standards, using approved procedures. The Software Quality Assurance Tester will document all keystrokes and bugs identified through the testing process, noting all error codes and producing detailed reports. Testing may be conducted on new software as well as updated versions.

The Role:
Knowledge of major tasks and deliverables based on best practice QA methodologies and disciplines related to the delivery of new or enhanced applications.
Proven end to end knowledge of the software QA testing process including the tools and techniques for implementing, automating and executing test plans and cases.
Ability to read and analyze system specifications and help validate the deliverables.
Proven ability to analyze received requirements and the ability to highlight documentation/requirement gaps.
Create/Update/Review/Execute manual test cases.
Help develop and maintain automated test scenarios.
Execute test plans and test scripts to certify the application and resulting data correctness.
Identify report and verify software defects working with developers and subject matter experts to help reproduce and resolve bugs.
Produce and maintain QA control documentation.

The Ideal Candidate:
Certificate in Quality Assurance or Technologist’s Diploma, or appropriate mix of education and practical experience.
3+ years’ experience in a Software QA tester role.
Ability to create and review technical documentation, including project plans, test procedures, and design documents.
Must possess excellent communication skills.
High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
Knowledge of automated software would be considered an asset.
The ability to multi-task.
