CUPS Early Intervention program; One World Child Development Centre (with both center-based and in-home services) represents an evidence-based, integrative approach to early intervention with multi-risk families to assist children from ages 3-6, and their families during their formative years to promote optimal social, emotional, and cognitive development and to prevent child maltreatment. CUPS program, One World Child Development Centre is embedded within CUPS, a non-profit organization dedicated to helping Calgary individuals and families overcome poverty.
CUPS is searching for an experienced Child Development Facilitator with a background in Special Education commencing immediately for the remainder of the 2016/17 school year.
The Child Development Facilitator (CDF) will actively engage in a wide range of children’s educational programming needs for children in between the ages of 3-6 years. Responsibilities will include building rapport with all children and their families, supporting children identified as having special needs through documentation, strategizing and consistent, developmentally appropriate programming to accomplish the Nurturing Parent Education (i.e. attachment and expectations of children) and participation objectives.
This individual will also design with colleagues long and short range learning plans to track child progress as well as develop and implement with the CDC team a plan of parent education activities and special parent events.
The assignment will require collaborative planning within a multi-disciplinary team including other Child Development Educators, parents, therapy team and consultants.
Applicants must hold the Alberta Child Development Supervisor certificate (level 3) with previous experience in Special Education or a Bachelor of Education with Special Education with at least 2-3 yrs. experience.
This individual must be able to work evenings as well as work independently.
