The Crystal Lodge & Suites is currently looking for a Front Desk Manager on Duty. The successful candidate will be available to work day, evening, and occasional overnight shifts as needed.

Job Summary

The Front Desk Manager on Duty is responsible for delivering a friendly and efficient check-in/check -out for our guests, and is expected to provide a high level of knowledge regarding The Crystal Lodge, Whistler local attractions and activities. This individual will also be responsible for conducting the nightly audit and preparation of various hotel operating reports.

In addition to regular work duties, the Front Desk Agent – Manager on Duty must provide consistently high levels of customer service, ensuring that all hotel patrons enjoy their stay, act as a spokesperson for the hotel at all times, and possess strong leadership and communication skills.

Job Duties

Register arriving guests and assign rooms

Answer enquiries regarding hotel services and registration by letter, by telephone and in person, provide information about services available in the community and respond to guest complaints

Present statements of charges to departing guests and receive payment

Post all daily room and outstanding charges

Process the nightly audit and produce reports for department heads

May assist with valet parking and handling and storing luggage

Maintain a high standard of personal hygiene and appearance

Assist other departments as required

Offer referral for services and handle requests

Requirements:
Previous experience as a Front Desk Agent and supervisor are preferred

Good working knowledge of Whistler and the surrounding area, able to make suggestions and advise guests

Strong working knowledge of hospitality industry principles, methods, practices, and techniques

Valid BC Driver’s license

First Aid certification is an asset

Effective verbal and written communication skills;

Able to work independently, previous experience working overnight is an asset

Quality oriented and superior attention to detail

Ability to analyze and interpret the needs of guests and offer the appropriate options, solutions, and resolutions required

Accountable and dependable

Exceptional conflict resolution, negotiation skills, diplomacy and tact

Cash handling experience is an asset

Ability to communicate effectively in a second language an asset
