Job Summary:
The Director of Athletics and Wellness is responsible to oversee the holistic development of varsity athletic

programs, and recreation and fitness, for a vibrant and growing Christian campus. The Director shall be an active

participant in the Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) nationally, and the regional conference of the

Atlantic Collegiate Athletic Association (ACAA). The Director oversees all staffing, programing, facilities,

strategic and fundraising initiatives, and the development of all athletic programs.

Qualifications:
This position requires an individual who possesses an exceptional ability to plan strategically and execute the plan

tactically. The individual must be able to develop paid and volunteer staffing, develop an advisory and fundraising

framework, develop a strong financial model for sustainability and growth, and work with athletes and coaching

staff to develop character, servant leadership, interpersonal skills, and athletic ability. This will be done within a

strong commitment to the Christian faith and in support of the strategic plan of the University.

The individual must possess industry leading practice in varsity athletics, marketing and branding awareness,

fundraising awareness, and the ability to clearly and enthusiastically articulate vision, in order to build a program

that is highly missional, compellingly competitive, and forward reaching in enrolment.

Education & Experience

Education: Minimum of an Undergraduate degree, preferably in an Athletics related field of study.

Experience: A minimum of three years related experience in post-secondary athletic programming, or

equivalent; coaching experience; a strong understanding of varsity athletics and

enrolment.

Knowledge: Strong understanding of student recruitment and retention

Strong understanding of coaching and leadership of varsity sports

Strong understanding of interpersonal and motivational skills

Excellent organizational and management abilities

Abilities: Lead and motivate others

Achieve clear outcomes

Work independently, and in conjunction with others

Strong solution orientation to challenges

Suitability: Strong missional understanding

Tact, persuasiveness, persistence and diplomacy

Judgment, initiative, reliability, flexibility

Remuneration: Level 4; salary commensurate with experience
