The IT Analyst, Operations Service & Improvements (OSI) is responsible for providing operational support for Information Technology applications, contributing to the continuous improvement of IT processes, and contributing to the development of the OSI operating model. Specifically, this role will support the SimCorp Dimension accounting application.

The successful candidate will help identify and implement (where applicable) continuous improvement opportunities to proactively address risks and issues in the production environment and automate routine activities. Over time, the goal is to optimize operational processes and focus on value-adding activities.

Specific Responsibilities

The IT Analyst, OSI is also responsible for providing analysis, maintenance and technical application support for a wide range of Applications supported by CPPIB, including the following responsibilities

  • Ensuring application systems are operating within service level
  • Troubleshoot problem areas (in person, by telephone, or via e-mail) within service levels on a level I and/or II basis. otational overnight support on a weekly basis is required
  • Proactively identifying, tracking, managing, and resolving software and technical issues
  • Partnering with various internal and external groups (business, infrastructure, vendors etc.) for problem resolution as well as implementation of new projects/initiatives
  • Applies analytical and technical skills to investigate day-to-day system and business issues, determine the root cause and deliver viable solutions
  • Defining and collecting metrics to give a sense of how systems are performing and mitigating symptoms in time
  • Adhering to CPPIB standards with respect to process, documentation and personal conduct
  • Provides technical leadership and helps coach team members on technical skills. Assists in raising the technical bar within the team
  • Manages vendor partners and internal development teams to deploy and support production and non-production environments in partnership with business counterparts and Technology Services
  • Provide knowledge transfer of application support and deployment processes to team members, Operations, and Support personnel
  • Other duties as assigned

Position Requirements

  • University Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics or similar
  • Experience working directly with the SimCorp Dimension platform preferred
  • Experience with the support and integration of investment/portfolio accounting and investment management system
  • Knowledge of Batch/DFS (Data Format Set Ups)/DEX (Data Extract) configuration within the application
  • Experience with Static data set up and maintenance (security, pricing, model portfolio)
  • In depth knowledge of Performance, Treasury and Accounting modules
  • Experience with handling Corporate Action events
  • Understanding of full trade life cycle including settlements and custody holdings reconciliations
  • Proactive, detail oriented and extremely well organized with strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Excellent business acumen, written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with colleagues across the organization at varying levels of seniority, including senior leadership
  • Experience with application and infrastructure performance monitoring and tuning tools
  • Demonstrated experience working in a Windows/Unix/Linux environment with exposure to SQL. Scripting knowledge and exposure to advance MS Excel macros is preferred
