Under the direction of the Manager of Roads and Facilities, develops, implements, manages and monitors the energy management program for County buildings, including guidelines and benchmarks required to develop a utilities purchasing strategy. Provides project management on Facilities capital and construction projects related to energy and provides input with respect to planning, financial resourcing, and energy management.
Minimum Qualifications
University Degree or College Diploma in the field of energy management, mechanical engineering, energy systems technology, or energy engineering technology. Certified Energy Manager (CEM) designation is considered an asset; minimum 3 years’ experience in public works, municipal engineering, facilities and/or energy management, including previous supervisory experience; knowledge of statutes and regulations related to energy management and the Green Energy Act; knowledge and experience in heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems (HVAC), lighting systems, building operation/construction; comprehensive knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and associated regulations and all other legislation and codes pertaining to building maintenance and construction including all regulations specific to the variety of regulated facilities within the county; effective communication skills including both verbal and written communication, time management, computer literacy and customer service; computer proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, databases, and e-mail use; financial experience pertaining to budget preparation, monitoring, and forecasting; a valid Ontario driver’s license required.
