PROGRAMMING COORDINATOR (12 MONTH CONTRACT)
Toronto, ON

Corus Entertainment has an exciting opportunity for a Programming Coordinator at our Toronto location. Reporting to the Manager of Programming, Pay TV, the successful candidate will be responsible for:

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Scheduling duties for two or more multiplexes both linear and non-linear (SVOD)
  • Monthly distribution of TV & BBM listings and schedule changes as required
  • Liaise with distributors regarding delivery of content and publicity materials
  • Liaise with Network Program Operations, providing metadata for the programming database
  • Scheduling of v-chip and viewer advisories
  • Ensure programming contract conditions and conditions of license are being met
  • Information management including maintaining inventory reports from the programming database related to play history, contract information, CRTC details etc
  • Continuously research programming trends & new product development related to our industry
  • Assist Programming team on tasks such as screening and evaluating program proposals, brainstorming and coordinating stunt events, analyzing ratings data etc.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A post-secondary degree/diploma in Broadcasting preferred
  • Expansive knowledge of film, past and present
  • Experience in program scheduling and proficiency in a broadcast management system
  • Knowledge of CRTC key figures and conditions of license an asset
  • Strong working knowledge on MS Word, Excel and Power Point
  • Extremely high level of accuracy with excellent attention to detail
  • Self-starter and a strong team player with the ability to work with little supervision
  • Well-organized, proactive and have the ability to prioritize work flow to produce high quality work within specified deadlines
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels
