Job Type: Full Time The County of Bruce is seeking qualified candidates for the full time position of Housing Services Manager. Reporting to the Director of Social Services and Housing, the Housing Services Manager is responsible for managing all client related services and programs of the Housing Division including the centralized waiting list, rent supplement, non-profit corporations, Investment in Affordable Housing and Community Homelessness Prevention Initiatives. This includes, any related administration, human resource management, policy and procedure development, budget preparation and monitoring, and reporting requirements while ensuring compliance with all housing related legislation and regulations.

The Housing Services Manager is responsible for implementation of strategic initiatives along with building and developing relationships with various public and private sector representatives both internal and external to the County and at various levels of government in regards to housing and homelessness planning. The incumbent will also represent the County on various internal and external committees, working to enhance the delivery of services and meet the strategic directions of the Long Term Housing Plan.

The Social Housing Administration office is located in Kincardine, along the beautiful Lake Huron shoreline. Qualifications:

  • Degree in related field such as Social Work, Social Services, Public Administration, etc.
  • Minimum five (5) years’ experience in the Social Housing field
  • Minimum two (2) years of supervisory or managerial experience
  • Excellent knowledge of the various housing programs including the Housing Services Act and Residential Tenancy Act
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to develop relationships, listen to the needs of various audiences and creatively meet those needs through negotiation, mediation and collaboration
  • Ability to organize and manage priorities
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
  • Willingness and ability to travel
