Our Surrey, BC client is looking for a Project Manager to support the the post-pilot rollout of a speech recognition & transcription system. The focus of the project is to implement the full scope of the speech recognition & transcription system and tie in with existing records management system to facilitate delivery to end users.

This contract will require working from the Client’s Surrey office. The initial contract term will be 12 months with the possibility of further extensions.

Key Responsibilities

The key responsibilities for this role are:

  • Develop a project charter for implementation of the speech recognition & transcription to deploy to various Client business units. The project charter will define the project objectives, scope, costs/budget, benefits, governance, project team, risks, key success factors, key stakeholders, dependent projects, implementation plan and other implementation considerations.
  • Status reporting (budget, deliverables and timelines) and define, manage and produce completed deliverables to project milestone.
  • As part of the project, define the end user leadership structure and assist with defining the governance structure (steering committees, project teams, working groups, etc.).
  • Complete an initial technology and business assessment to identify gaps/requirements that will impact the implementation work effort, costs and plan.
  • Complete documentation for approval – including, but not limited to Software Assessment Forms, Service Level Agreements, and Privacy Impact Assessment documentation.
  • Develop an initial change management plan and strategy for the transition of dictating authors from current state dictation practices to the new system and the change management components for transitioning end users to the new system from existing transcription services.
  • Collaborate with IT & Business stakeholders to create a value proposition for the dictating authors, determine the deployment strategy and approach, and understand the future framework.

Key Qualifications

The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate the following experience and skill attributes:

  • Project Manager with over 10 years’ experience planning and proven track record in managing large scale business and systems transformation engagements.
  • Have at least five (5) years recent experience managing complex, high profile projects/initiative.
  • PMP designation (preferred).
  • Excellent communications, facilitation and change management skills to effectively move an organization through a significant period of change.
  • Have strong leadership skills and ability to manage business, technical and application groups to ensure project is on time and within scope and budget.
  • Possess exceptional facilitation skills at the Senior Management and other organizational levels.
  • Possess exceptional oral and written communication, facilitation and presentation.
  • Have a University Degree or equivalent Technical College/Institute Diploma is preferred.
