Cooke Insurance in Sydney, NS has a Commercial Insurance Producer position available . We are looking for a self starter that enjoys finding and securing new commercial business.

Responsibilities will consist of preparing quote proposals for prospective clients, explaining coverage’s and issuing policies for new clients, handling customer questions, performing account reviews, collecting information for endorsements, as well as other tasks related to selling, servicing, and retaining our commercial lines business.

Other responsibilities will consist of:

  • Generating new prospects based on you connections and networks.
  • Developing and cross-selling current accounts based on our available products and services.
  • Closing the sale on current prospects.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to pay close attention to detail and accuracy in a fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrates great organizational and follow-up skills
  • Personable, great with customers in person, over the phone, and through email
  • Able to resolve client issues in a professional, respectful, and friendly manner at all times
  • Effective multi-tasking and good at prioritizing, working with deadlines
  • Independent and self-motivated. Exercises initiative sound judgment to solve problems.
  • Under limited supervision, provides timely and accurate service to clients

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in the insurance or staffing industry is preferred
  • Strong computer skills (Outlook, Word, Excel, agency management software, quoting software)
  • Reliable transportation as may need to visit prospects/clients and history of dependability

Wage:

Salary Base + Commission
