Contend is seeking experienced writers and graphic designers to brainstorm, write, edit, and create content for our customers. Contend’s editorial team brings editorial strategies to life for some of the world’s best-known brands as they build communities through content marketing. The employee’s ability to adapt to our client’s voice and support business goals through well-written articles is essential for driving our client’s business success. With that in mind, content developers will pitch ideas, brainstorm, write and edit original content for our clients, ensuring content is high quality and on-brand. Content developers will comply with our clients’ stringent guidelines and ensure that we are providing valuable articles, for their target audiences, that will pass muster under legal and brand scrutiny as well.

Responsibilities (actual responsibilities to be determined by individual customers):

Brainstorm and pitch original article ideas

Write valuable original content that aligns with client’s business goals and guidelines

Edit original content for quality and clarity

Handle program communication between editorial strategist and client

Ensure pitches and content are high quality and on brand.

Ensure that content is being produced at scale, at a highly effective level and on time.

Able to comply with content strategies and produce numerous pieces weekly for different clients in different industries and different standards.

Qualifications:
Must be a secondary student who has obtained at least an 80% average within their first and/or second years of school.

Must have taken at least one type of business and English courses within their secondary careers and obtained at least an 80% in either course.

Minimum of one year experience at another institution, regardless of industry.

Have experience in content or news ideation and production (desired however not essential)

Have familiarity with digital marketing space and enthusiasm for working with commercial brands (desired however not essential)

Understand tone and voice, and have the ability to adapt content to a client’s specific tone (e.g. What makes a Mashable story different from a Guardian story?)

Be able to concisely communicate with editorial strategists and colleagues about original content
