NOTICE OF POSITION AVAILABLE

POSITION: Apprentice/Learner

Reporting to a Lead Hand, Base Engineer and/or Fleet Manager, the Apprentice/Learner works in a supervised environment and performs aircraft maintenance, repair, inspection and modification as befits their level of experience. A Learner/Apprentice participates in projects as determined by the department assigned. As the entry level trades category within the company, a Learner advances through Learner levels based on obtaining the required knowledge, skills and abilities in the position.

MAJOR DUTIES AND  Supervised aircraft maintenance, repairs, inspection and modification;  adhering to Conair safety regulation, policies and procedures while

RESPONSIBILITIES: performing their duties;

 becoming a team player assisting fellow employees in the performance of their duties in a Professional and Courteous manner;

 maintaining a Conair O.J.T. log book as well as keeping a T.C. log book up to date;

 preparing at the end of their apprenticeship program to acquire a T.C. license in a timely manner;

 accepting field assignments that could require being away for extended periods of time;

 basic knowledge of Conair information technology system as related to their learner level.

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS  Knowledge of aircraft services and maintenance required to assist in maintaining the aircraft in a serviceable and airworthy condition;

ABILITIES:  knowledge of safety measures required within the workplace;

 ability to learn quickly and adapt to changes;

 ability to take instruction; listen and follow oral communication;

 skill in working with sheet metal, mechanical and power machinery and tools;

 ability to work professionally within a team of individuals; promote and maintain a positive working environment;

 knowledge of CARs as related to aircraft maintenance.

TRAINING AND  Grade 12 diploma;  diploma in Aircraft Maintenance;

EXPERIENCE:  mechanical experience or aptitude is required;

 advancement based on satisfactory performance.
