Contract Full Time – Supported Independent Living Program
Community Living Oakville encourages and supports full community participation while providing quality services, supports and opportunities, enabling people with developmental disabilities to live active, rewarding and fulfilling lives.
Community Living Oakville is inviting applications for the position of Contract Full Time Staff for the Supported Independent Living Program.
This position requires the ability to advocate with resource personnel (i.e. employers, landlords, psychologists, psychiatrists, and medical professionals), working with families/advocates. Experience in developing and implementing Individual Program Plans, teaching plans, and Behaviour Management programs are required.
Start Date : Immediately to February 2016 (possibility of extension)
Hours of work : 80 hours bi-weekly; Monday to Friday, 12:30pm – 8:30pm(as per program schedule, subject to change)
Required Technical Competencies:
Completed post-secondary diploma and/or degree in a related discipline i.e. Developmental Service Worker, Social Service Worker, Child and Youth Worker, Behavioural Sciences
Current Safe Management, First Aid and Pharmacology
Minimum 3 years related experience working independently in the community with adults with a developmental disability.
Basic computer skills
Hold and maintain a valid Driver’s Licence and access to a vehicle.
