The Restaurant and Bar Manager leads and manages all restaurants / bar operations, to ensure continued growth and development of the restaurant team and to maximize operational efficiencies, customer service and profitability.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsible for the day to day operations of the restaurants and bar while maintaining a consistently high level of customer service delivery
Prepares weekly/ monthly labor forecasts and schedules; and food & beverage revenue forecasts
Participates in the revision of menus and upgrading of service; Initiates and implements food & beverage promotions; works actively with Coast Marketing Team to develop marketing plans
Coordinates with internal team to create food and beverage promotions
Manages payroll for the restaurants and bar
Participates in Duty Manager program at the hotel
Attracts & develops talent by creating an environment in which contributions are recognized & rewarded
Provides training for new ambassadors, and ongoing coaching & development using the “Living The Values” Talent Management System
Creates an environment that produces a highly engaged team of food sales & service professionals
Handling of guest complaints, follows through on action required
Ensures that all working areas, furnishings and equipment are maintained to a high standard
Monitors an effective purchasing program allowing for operating supplies and expenses within budget
Involvement in preparation of the restaurants’ /bar operating & capital budgets
Job Requirements Qualifications:
Minimum 3 years food service management experience, including direct supervision of team members
Required to work a flexible schedule, with regular work week being Wednesday thru Sunday
Intermediate knowledge of Squirrel Point of Sale system is an asset
Must be proficient in Microsoft Office applications (i.e., Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
Required certifications: FOODSSAFE, Hepatitis A Vaccine & Serving it Right
Effective problem solving and decision making ability
Demonstrated superior customer service philosophy
Degree/Diploma in Hospitality preferred or Hospitality industry courses in Hotel Management
An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered
Exceptional communication& leadership skills
