We are currently looking for an experienced Modular Plant Design Engineer to join our Saskatoon based team; this position can be based out of Saskatoon or anywhere else in Canada but will be required to travel to Saskatoon on a regular basis. This is a contract opportunity and will last initially for 6 months with the possibility of extension. This position will be the lead engineer dedicated to modular potash plant design project.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Developing sound technical solutions to assist in the design, evaluation and construction strategy of a modular potash plant
  • Participating in the initial proposal development phase of the project
  • Developing the overall modularization strategy and scopes of work to support the basic engineering on a potash plant.
  • Support and input to the project cost estimates, project plans, schedules and deliverables
  • Providing senior review and professional authentication of memos, reports, drawings and other engineering documents
  • Preparing technical letters and reviews, reports, quality control documents and other documentation
  • Identifying, address and resolving technical pre-fabrication design and construction issues and conflicts as needed to deliver the work plan
  • Track and report progress against the work plan, budget and deliverable

Qualifications

  • A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or structural engineering
  • Proven capabilities and a minimum of 15 years of experience designing and construction project management in prefabrication / modular structures; preference will be given to candidate with experience designing and monitoring construction related to modular industrial process plants / structures
  • Extensive experience writing reports and technical communications and client communications
  • Must be extremely well organized and have the ability to manage and prioritize numerous tasks to ensure a commitment to project delivery, client service and quality management
  • Proven success in delivering high quality projects on time and on budget
  • Outstanding relationship building skills and ability to lead and manage by influence
  • An aptitude for and interest in planning, scheduling and financial management
  • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills are required
  • Ability to work well independently, as well as in a team environment is necessary
  • Travel will be required in this position
  • Must be registered or eligible to register as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng) in Canada

Additional Information

  • Travel to accommodate the fly-in / fly-out component of this positon, to and from Saskatoon will be covered by Tetra Tech.
  • Lodging will be covered as part of the contract; this should not be reflected in hourly rate expectations.
