As a member of the Renewable Energy Mechanical design team in Brossard, selected candidate will be responsible for the mechanical design for Francis, Kaplan and propeller turbines equipment refurbishment.
Collaborate with hydraulic design engineers, designers and project team to carry out turbine design according to customer specifications while optimizing project cycle costs;
Perform mechanical design calculations (stress / strain) and create technical specifications all in accordance with internal design practices and industry standards;
Update and follow-up engineering budget and schedule with project teams;
Organize and participate in design reviews;
Check and seal technical documentation performed under his supervision;
Provide technical support during the supply and installation phases of the contracts;
Develop and maintain the design tools, standards and design rules;
Perform trouble shooting and root cause analysis;
As required, preparation of technical documentation for proposals.

Requirements :
University degree in engineering and more than ten (10) years of relevant experience in mechanical design and project engineering with at least two (2) years of experience in hydro turbine refurbishment as design engineer;
Profile: customer oriented, teamwork, interpersonal skills, technical leadership, solution and continuous improvement oriented;
Knowledge of hydraulic turbines (Francis, Propeller, Kaplan) and components;
Strong communication skills (oral & written);
Member of the professional order of engineers in Quebec or Canadian equivalent;
Knowledge of Microsoft Office, CAD system and related computer tools;
Manufacturing (welded structure) and installation experience considered and asset;
