Clear Environmental Solutions is currently seeking looking for a self-motivated and well organized individual to join our team as a Contract Environmental Supervisor . The successful candidate must be a detail-oriented, critical thinker with strong writing skills. The successful candidate must be capable of collecting accurate field information and compiling the data into well-structured reports.

Candidate must operate as a sub-contractor. Contractors will be required to establish their own consulting company with:

  • Statement of Incorporation
  • WCB Clearance
  • GST #
  • $2,000,000 General Liability Insurance
  • $2,000,000 Commercial Automotive Insurance

Duties would include the following:

  • Take part in a broad range of environmental consulting services to the Oil & Gas sector in relation to following regulations for waste and water management as regulated by the AER & OGC
  • Position is for Field work, approximately 80% or more of time will be allocated to the field.
  • Candidate must be comfortable working in a remote field setting for extended periods of time while completing waste, soil and water sampling
  • Field testing of samples as well as compiling and managing data collected from field work
  • Compile field data into reports; including graphs, figures, and tables.

CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Preference may be given to candidates with an undergraduate degree from recognized university or a 2 year Technical Diploma in environmental, chemistry, biology, earth sciences or engineering discipline
  • Previous relevant experience with in the oil and gas sector is an asset. Preference may be given to candidates with more experience.
  • Valid Driver’s license in Alberta, Saskatchewan, or BC
  • Valid health and safety training certificates: Standard First Aid, H2S Alive, TDG, WHIMIS, Ground Disturbance Level II and petroleum safety training(PST 2.0) are mandatory; additional certificates may be required dependent on project
  • Strong work ethic with well-developed organizational and time management skills;
  • Excellent written and oral communication;
  • Proven ability to work independently and in a team environment;
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office with advanced knowledge of Word and Excel.
  • Legally eligible to work in Canada
  • Candidates must be willing to work away from home. Candidates with the ability to relocate or travel to projects area for extended periods preferred.

Contractors are required to have their own equipment including;

  • Reliable 4X4 Truck (off- road capable)
  • Handheld GPS
  • Digital Camera
  • Laptop Computer, Scanner and Printer
  • Personal Protective Equipment [Hard hat, CSA Approved Steel Boots (Rubber recommended), Fire Retardant Coveralls (i.e. Nomex), CSA Impact Approved Safety Glasses]
  • Additional equipment such as personal H2S monitors, 2 Way Radio, clinometer, may be required depending on the work area and expected to be provided by the contractor
