As a Business Systems Analyst, you will be responsible for communicating, analyzing, and documenting the needs of various departmental stakeholders. The Business Systems Analyst will gather and elicit requirements, analyze and design business processes, develop project documentation, and develop test plans for various departmental IT projects.
As a Business Systems Analyst you will be:
Meeting with executive sponsors, business subject matter experts, developers, solution architects, and other stakeholders to understand, document, and communicate business and functional requirements.
Soliciting business and functional requirements through interviews, workshops, and analysis of existing documentation, business processes and procedures.
Integrating new and existing technology into business processes and liaising with various business groups in the organization to facilitate implementation of new and/or improved business processes.
Preparing test plans, writing and executing test cases, and providing guidance in user acceptance testing.
Developing and supporting the creation of Request for Proposals (RFP) and Business Cases.
Collaborating in the planning, design, development and deployment of new applications and enhancements to existing applications; and creating business and system models, User Interface specifications, diagrams and charts.
Performing cost-benefit and return on investment analysis for proposed systems to aid management in making implementation decisions.
Performing other related duties consistent with the classification, as assigned.
Your education and experience includes:
A University Degree in a related discipline (Computer Science, Engineering or Business Administration) or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
At least 3 years of experience in business and technical requirements analysis, elicitation, business process development and data modeling with proven experience working on enterprise IT projects.
Experience in creating test plans, writing test cases and software application testing to ensure optimal application performance according to requirements and specifications.
Excellent interpersonal skills and written and verbal communication skills with the ability to facilitate discussions.
Experience in User Interface design, techniques, and technologies would be considered an asset.
Possess a strong knowledge of IT concepts and IT project life cycle. Project Management knowledge and experience is considered an asset.
Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with employees at all levels of the organization, external contacts and the public, in accordance with the Respectful Workplace Policy.

The salary range for this position is $2,418.08 to $3,165.79 bi-weekly.
