Under the direction of the Project Manager, Library Services, the successful candidate will be:

  • Responding to Helpdesk calls and providing technical support to Community Services clients, including the troubleshooting and resolution of hardware and software related issues.
  • Installing, configuring and supporting line of business software applications and specialized hardware.
  • Supporting the implementation of innovative technologies through the execution of Work Requests and Project related tasks and activities.
  • Assessing the effectiveness of technology currently in use or new systems that are being considered for implementation.
  • Gathering and documenting technical requirements.
  • Coordination with Hardware Support Services team on Community Services staff moves to existing and new facilities.
  • Producing and maintaining technical systems documentation.
  • Assisting in the support of other Community Services based applications and systems.
  • Evening and weekend work may be required.
  • Other related duties as assigned.

Here’s what you bring to the table:

  • College Diploma or Degree in Computer Science or related discipline with three to five years experience in hardware/software support in a desktop environment.
  • Excellent people, analytical and technical skills and a demonstrated commitment to service excellence.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Windows 7, 8, and 10, Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Office Suite, along with desktop computer operating systems and utilities.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory and TCP/IP.
  • Familiarity with a variety of hardware, including; mobile devices, personal computers and peripherals such as modems, network printers, standalone printers, and scanners.
  • Demonstrated advanced technical ability to install, configure, troubleshoot and maintain computer hardware and software.
  • Demonstrated experience in the development, testing, implementation, integration, maintenance, and support of in-house developed and off the shelf applications preferred
  • Experience with Library technologies, such as Symphony Integrated Library System, iTiva phone renewal, Enterprise Public Catalogue, SIP2, Bibliotheca’s RFID applications (self checkout, Tagging, Circulation, Security Gates) is preferred.
  • Note: Must have a valid driver’s license with access to a vehicle. Lifting of equipment routinely required. Evening and weekend work will be required to provide extended business hours support to the Community Services Department.

Salary: $77,888 – $103,852
