Job Overview
A full-time (35 hrs per week) administrative position to cover a Maternity Leave in the department of Community Social Development with the City of Grande Prairie.
The Administrative Assistant reports to the Homeless Initiatives Supervisor and is responsible for administrative support for the Homeless Initiatives Supervisor, Team and Community Advisory Board on Homelessness.
Main responsibilities
In this position you will be responsible for providing administrative support at both internal and external meetings by recording minutes, transcribing flip chart notes and disseminating meeting documents. In supporting the Homeless Initiatives Supervisor and Team you will take on various duties such as photocopying, scanning, emailing and filing. You will provide expertise in creating, formatting and reviewing, documents, contracts and reports. When events or meetings are planned you will manage the meeting logistics, such as booking the facility, audio visual requirements, supplies, catering, and room set up.
Qualifications
Education in Business Administration. You will show exceptional customer service skills and thrive in a fast paced work environment. High level competencies in Microsoft Word and Excel, with experience in document formatting, Excel workbooks and proof reading. Strong written communication skills.
