Job Overview

The Aquatic & Wellness Department is seeking a Temporary Aquatic Specialized Program Supervisor. In this role you will work with closely with the other Aquatic Supervisor to ensure the ELC Aquatics Department runs smoothly. You will directly supervise aquatic staff including hiring, mentoring, and conducting performance reviews. You must have strong knowledge in programming as well as Red Cross Swim Lessons and a creative and innovative approach to all other aspects of aquatic programming. This will enable you to effectively mentor the Aquatic Program Coordinator. Work must be done in accordance with facility guidelines and procedures in order to guarantee that effective and safe operations are maintained.

Main Responsibilities

In this position your main responsibilities include supervising and mentoring the Aquatic Program Coordinator, and guiding and mentoring programming staff. You will have experience in scheduling a large staff complement as well as maintaining a budget. You will have the ability to problem solve and address customer concerns in a timely manner. This is a very fast paced, busy environment and you must be able to adapt to situations quickly.


. Recreation Degree/Diploma
· Business experience
· Previous experience in a Pool Aquatic environment
· Strong knowledge of Aquatic Programs, Societies and Partners
· Minimum 3 years leadership experience
· Excellent organization and planning skills, and time management
· attention to detail/ability to concentrate on minute details
· Knowledge of computer programs including CLASS software system
· Knowledge of facility programs and city policies
· Customer service experience coupled with exceptional public relation skills
· Ability to work with diverse customers and coworkers
· Strong communication skills
· Independent decision-making, problem solving and analytical skills
· Team player with proven success in relationship building
. First Aid/CPR an asset (but can be acquired on the job)
