The Edmonton Valley Zoo connects its visitors back to nature
in the heart of our City’s river valley. As a Wildlife Photography Instructor, sharing your knowledge, experience and a love of nature to
students 16+ will make your job both fun and rewarding! The instructor will be expected

Plan and implement
multiple wildlife photography workshops with the Edmonton Valley Zoo that
are age and skill level appropriate

Instruct on all technical
aspects of photography

Participate in necessary
set up, take down and cleaning as related to courses

Communicate, organize and
plan alongside other departments

Provide a warm and safe
environment for students to explore their photo-creativity

Degree or diploma that
relates to photography, education or biological sciences

Minimum 5 years experience
using professional photography equipment

Programming and/or teaching experience
with adult student groups

Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and professionally in a classroom setting with a diverse group of students

Ability to comfortably work around a variety of exotic animals

Knowledge of local natural
history and exotic wildlife is considered an asset

Current First Aid and CPR
Level C

The successful candidate will be required
to obtain a satisfactory Police Information Check Certificate including a
Vulnerable Sector Check from the police agency in the jurisdiction in
which they reside. Residents of the City of Edmonton can usually obtain a
Police Information Check Certificate including a Vulnerable Sector Check
with a single visit to the Police Information Check Section located at
#108, 14315 118 Avenue. Candidates residing outside the City of
Edmonton will be required to obtain a Certified Criminal Record Check
including a Vulnerable Sector Check

Hours of Work

: Hours of work may vary, depending on the program. Evening and weekend availability is required.

Salary Range

: 81M Grade: 002, $21.00 – $31.50 (hourly)
