1 temporary full-time position for 4 months, commencing in May 2017, intended specifically for students currently attending an interior design, architectural technology or related post-secondary diploma or degree program and returning to school full-time in Fall 2017.
The Civic Accommodation Planning team is looking for a student with strong critical thinking skills to provide support in facility management projects and initiatives. Working alongside the Civic Accommodation Planning team, this position will ensure accuracy and consistency of building data in the database and reporting tools. Your creativity and new ideas for how to improve data collection and verification and the reporting of that data will be encouraged.
Assist with interior design and furniture layouts
Assist in client relations and functional program creation
Assist with the creation and revision of reports
Assist with the verification of database accuracy and data collection from civic owned and leased buildings
Verify floor plan accuracy and edit floor plans

Currently attending and returning full-time in Fall 2017 to an interior design or architectural technology or related post-secondary diploma or degree program
Effective verbal and written communication skills and ability to maintain strong working relationships
Demonstrated ability to conduct analysis with proven attention to detail
Excellent organizational and multitasking skills
Ability to work independently and make decisions in the absence of a supervisor
Demonstrated ability using Microsoft Office Suite and Google Apps
Demonstrated ability using AutoCAD and reading architectural plans is an asset
Familiarity with reporting logic and database design is an asset *Please note that at the time of interview you will need to provide an unofficial transcript or enrollment verification letter (indicating you are returning to a post-secondary program full-time in the fall).
This position may be partially funded through the Alberta Government Summer Temporary Employment Program (STEP).
Hours of Work: 40 hours per week, Monday – Friday.
Salary Range : $17.258 – 18.984 (Hourly).
