As a Senior Staffing Specialist, you will provide Human Resource (HR) support in a fast-paced team environment where interruptions are common and priorities change frequently. The position supports functions such as compensation and rewards; recruitment and selection; labour and employee relations. Specific duties include:
- Facilitate the recruitment and selection process including; preparing job postings/advertisements, set up competition files, screen applicants, schedule interviews, coordinate testing, prepare documentation and respond to inquiries.
- Utilize multiple computer applications to research, analyze and process transactions on a variety of H.R. related activities. Create reports, spreadsheets and databases for tracking various activities such as flexible work options, competitions, job evaluation, security clearance and polygraph.
- Liaise with H.R. Business partners, Recruiters and stakeholders to determine the appropriate advice, implications and actions required to respond to various issues.
- Access information from employees and position files, ensuring that all documents are handled in a confidential manner. Facilitate requests for employee information. Plan and conduct orientation sessions for new employees.
- Research and prepare supporting documentation for budget submissions.

1 year certificate or diploma (HR, Business Administration or a related field) plus a minimum of five years related HR experience.

Intermediate level using Microsoft office including Word and Excel.

Experience working in a law enforcement environment and working with PeopleSoft HCM or an equivalent Human Resource Information System and working in a unionized environment interpreting collective agreements would be considered assets.

Days of Work: This position works Monday – Thursday
