Business Unit Information: Providing client services and innovative leadership utilizing technology (hardware, software, systems, and services) delivering simple effective solutions that are easy to use.

As part of the IT Emerging Solutions department, this position will be responsible for driving high level analysis and strategic advice to support the City’s Information Governance Management (IGM) program decision making, planning and delivery across a portfolio of complex projects. The prime requirement of this position is to act as the pivotal link between the business units and the program ensuring that business/user requirements are understood and articulated for correct solution implementation of an EDRMS. This position promotes business analysis awareness, leadership, functional consultation and guidance in the use of the business analysis methodology and tools, and actively participates in continuous improvement to the process.

Primary Accountabilities Include: Participate in the evaluation and selection of the EDRMS solution for the City of Airdrie
Participate in the requirements and configuration design sessions for how the EDRMS will be configured for the organization
Work with each department across the City to roll out the EDRMS to each area for the management of their electronic information
Facilitate requirements sessions to gather business requirements and work with the IGM business lead and the business department to devise a taxonomy that will address business-specific requirements and facilitate the effective management of the department’s information in alignment with the Information Governance Framework
Identify business-specific metadata that might be required to support information retrieval for the business area
Provide input into project-specific change management and training plans including stakeholder assessment and communication plans for each department
Identify and assist departments with process re-engineering to support effective information management
Identify tie-ins between related customer requests and recognize inter-related impacts of projects
Design workflows to optimize document related business processes
Assist business area in content migrations and testing
Act as the liaison between the business departments and IT

Education/Experience Requirements: Relevant degree or diploma in Business Analysis
Minimum of 5 years of experience as an IS/IT Business Analyst
Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Business Analyst in ECM or EDRMS projects (defining folder structures, metadata models, permission models, workflows)
Experience implementing Records Management solutions as part of an ECM or EDRMS deployment
Experience implementing Portal Solutions would be an asset
Experience with Email Management solutions would be an asset
Experience with process re-engineering, including capturing use cases
Knowledge of and experience with Business Analysis Methodologies (e.g. BABoK) would be an asset
Knowledge of and experience with Change Management Methodologies (e.g. Prosci) would be an asset
Knowledge of and experience with Project Management Methodologies (e.g. PMBoK) would be an asset
Familiarity with a municipal government setting would be an asset

Ability to simplify and convey complex business/technology concepts to clients
