The role of Human Resources at the City of Airdrie is focused on partnering with business units to help them achieve their outcomes through their people. To help us achieve this, we are looking for a dynamic, diverse, and flexible Human Resources professional with a specialized skill set to lead the management of change on enterprise-wide programs.

Primary Accountabilities Include:
The Change Management Specialist will be responsible for utilizing the Citys change management tools, specifically PROSCI, to ensure successful delivery and adoption of the Citys organizational priorities. The Change Management Specialist will work closely with internal program peers and sponsors (Program Managers, Strategic Services, Human Resources, and Directors) to reinforce consistent application of change management tools and integration across various program teams, related to the projects.
This position will work on two major organizational programs, Asset Management and Information Governance and Management, supporting successful implementation.
The incumbent will report to the Team Leader, Human Resources, and will also share accountability to the Program Manager as well as the sponsors for each program.
This position will drive efforts of change management through the utilization of the following competencies and activities:
Applies expert organizational change management knowledge to prepare, deliver and maintain change management assessments and plans
Completes and assesses detailed change and stakeholder analyses including, but not limited to, change readiness, sponsorship roadmap, and change impact assessments
Develops and executes the change management strategy, including communication, training, coaching, risk management, and resistance mapping
Supports the program manager, governance, and sponsorship activities associated with these large scale programs and ensures integration and alignment across multiple concurrent initiatives
Proactively consults with Human Resources Business Partners on employee relations and team dynamics that may result from change implementation activities
Provides coaching in change management, resistant management, and change mentorship to program team, business leaders, and sponsors
Continually assesses potential issues, people risks, and conflicting priorities; mitigates risks by raising issues to the program manager and sponsors
Evaluates the success of change management activities; provides progress and metric reports to the program team, steering committee and senior leadership as required
Monitors change adoption in the organization and plans additional organizational change management activities to support gaps in adoption or continued realization of change benefits
As the Change Management Specialist, you will provide strategic advice and counsel to both the program team and human resources team on all aspects relating to change management.
With a high-energy and results focused attitude, you will use your emotional intelligence to build relationships with various stakeholders across the organization. In addition to your influencing and networking capabilities, you will also bring the following:
Post-secondary degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, Industrial Psychology or other related degree
Certification in PROSCI Change Management is required
Currently holds at least one of the following designations: Certified Change Management Professional (CCMP), Certified Professional in Human Resources (CPHR), and/or Project Management Professional Certification (PMP)
5 – 8 years experience leading change and communication efforts for multiple complex implementations (IGM, ERP, CRM, etc.); experience with a minimum of two full lifecycle change management projects
5 – 8 years experience partnering with business leaders to deliver human resources services; experience with developing and deploying HR programs
Knowledge of applicable federal, provincial, and municipal laws, codes, and regulations relevant to employee relations
Mastery of Microsoft applications with a particular focus on excel and power-point
