The City of Abbotsford currently has a full-time opportunity available on a temporary basis for up to 12 months in our Parks Services division for an energetic and self-motivated Park Attendant. Length of term is dependent on return of the incumbent to this position and may be shortened.

Th is exciting opportunity includes maintenance and custodial work involving the care and upkeep of one or more parks, recreational and playground areas, or cemeteries. The incumbent must have the ability to perform a variety of grounds maintenance and building cleaning and maintenance tasks, unskilled repair work, and unskilled and semi-skilled gardening duties under minimal supervision.

In order to be considered for this position, you must have:

Co mpletion of Grade 12
·
Co mpletion of basic park related courses
·
A minimum of one year experience in general parks maintenance, horticulture or arboriculture work
·
A valid BC Driver’s License.
Co mpletion of pesticide certification is considered an asset. Qualified candidates will be asked to attain a satisfactory Driver’s Abstract. .
Th is position is unionized, CUPE Local 774, and the hourly rate of pay is from $21.98 to $25.86 per hour plus an additional 12% in lieu of benefits. Shift Work is involved in this position, including evenings and weekends.
