Bilingual Contract Specialist
Reporting to and working closely with the Director, Contracts and RFPs, the Bilingual Contracts Specialist will play a key role in managing the client contract process at Cision. The position is critical in negotiating client service contracts, supporting our Sales teams in generating business whilst managing risk, maintaining and improving the contract workﬂow, supporting and training sellers, and working across teams to make our processes as efﬁcient and effective as possible.
The primary focus will be on negotiating client contracts, both directly and in support of our Sales teams. This will include supporting our Montreal office and working with French-language contracts. The role will also involve advising the business on a range of contractual and business issues, providing guidance on best practice, and assisting with product development. A small proportion of time (up to 10%) will be spent supporting our RFP Specialist in responding to tender requests to win new clients and business, especially in French.
Qualifications and experience:
The successful candidate will demonstrate an ability to combine a strong commercial awareness with a solid understanding of legal contract terms, to produce practical yet risk-aware results. They will work confidently with sellers and clients to both build and protect our business. A strong desire and ability to learn and adapt are key. Fluency in both English and French (verbal and written)
Completed post-secondary education, preferably with a legal qualification or equivalent experience
Experience working with legal/contract terms, preferably with experience:
Negotiating service supply or other client contracts, and managing the client contract workflow
Drafting legal terms, including new templates and amendments to template wording
Working with sales teams and clients, conveying complex issues and assisting with deal-closing
Solid commercial understanding, with an appreciation of how service companies do business
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Strong interpersonal skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced, results-oriented team environment
Strong professional ethics and integrity
Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Outlook, with Excel and PowerPoint also preferred
Experience as a lawyer, legal assistant, paralegal or similar
Knowledge or experience of Quebec contract law
Experience drafting or working with RFP responses and other tender and sales documents
Experience with Salesforce or other CRM software
Experience in the media services sector
