Rogers Sugar is a Canadian, publicly traded company that operates cane sugar refineries in Montreal, Quebec and Vancouver, British Columbia, as well as the only Canadian sugar beet processing facility in Taber, Alberta. With two iconic sugar brands “Lantic” in Eastern Canada and the “Rogers” in Western Canada the company has tremendous market share and a strong brand identity in the granulated, icing, cube, yellow and brown sugars, liquid sugars and specialty syrup categories.
The Board has initiated a search to find a full-time replacement for the CEO who will be retiring in the New Year. Reporting to the Chair, the President and CEO of both Rogers Sugar and Lantic Inc., the operating company, has full profit and loss responsibility for the company and is responsibility for providing the strategic direction and hands-on leadership necessary to facilitate and enhance levels of market leadership and earnings performance through existing and new operations. As such the President and CEO has a clear mandate to create and execute on a progressive corporate development plan that will provide the company with strategic options for long-term growth and vitality through new product introduction, opportunistic joint ventures, mergers or acquisitions and international and domestic market development.
The ideal candidate has a business or engineering degree and is a talented executive with more than ten years of leadership experience who has a demonstrable record of success driving growth and profitability within the broadly defined consumer products or specialty products sectors. He/she is respected for their ability to think outside the box and drive shareholder value through acquisitive, organic and new market growth and has built a career in well-regarded and innovative companies known for a strong performance orientation. He/she possesses a reputation for integrity, ethics, visionary leadership and outstanding business management skills. Compensation is dependent on experience with an expected base salary in the $350,000 – $425,000 range.
