As a Water/Wastewater Process Mechanical Engineer, you’ll have the chance to utilize your technical leadership and knowledge in mechanical engineering design of systems for municipal water and wastewater treatment plants, each day you will support teams of process and mechanical engineers in the design of water and wastewater treatment plants, and pumping stations, design hydraulic modeling, pump and pipe sizing, blower sizing, mechanical equipment sizing and selection, development of process flow and piping and instrumentation drawings, pump station and treatment facility designs, contract document preparation, writing technical specifications, technical reports, and support of construction projects, and field condition assessments. Working with other members of the team, you’ll lead or assist as the process mechanical engineer on projects of various scope, complexity, and size in a team environment , perform routine assignments which are clearly defined and require the application of standard design engineering techniques, procedures and criteria. During your time with us, you will endeavor to understand the customer’s need and how the project relates to other elements of the client’s organization and to other projects, as well as provide technical leadership in the area of process mechanical engineering and hydraulics locally, and complete process mechanical budget, schedule, and quality. The minimum qualifications for this position are:
- B.S. Degree in Civil, Environmental, Mechanical or Chemical Engineering from an accredited engineering program
- 6 to 12 years of experiences in detailed design of process-mechanical facilities for municipal or similar type water and wastewater treatment facilities
