CENTURY 21 Canada Head Office, located in Vancouver, B.C., has an immediate opening for a proactive, energetic and hardworking Public Relations Manager who is eager to generate earned media for the brand.

About You: Your work will make you a vital participant in our marketing team. You are passionate about generating earned media for the brand, but at the same time, you can anticipate issues before they become problems and possess the initiative to suggest better ways to bring success to projects will be among your skills. You are also extremely organized, have a strong work ethic, a positive attitude, and attention to detail. You want to build on a strong brand with the quality of your work, always looking for areas of opportunity.

Here’s what you’ll be doing in the role:

We’re looking for a Public Relations Manager to increase the amount of earned media that the brand receives from coast to coast. In conjunction with our PR agency, you will explore ways to leverage local content in each market in which we operate. You should have command of best practices and trends in public relations, enjoy building relationships with the media and influencers, and understand how to build the brand through earned media.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with our PR company and the VP of Marketing in the research, planning, development and execution of a comprehensive strategic communications plan
  • Connect with influential media outlets and journalists to place stories about company news and other initiatives
  • Create content regularly to grow the company’s footprint (press releases, corporate announcements, and creative content)
  • Collaborate with prominent members of the company, including executives, to craft and pitch press releases and thought leadership columns
  • Establish a sustainable, strategic approach to PR based on adding value to media outlets and event managers, not just asking for it
  • Relationship building and management with local and national journalists
  • Work with the entire marketing department to implement all tactics outline in the annual marketing plan
  • Develop templates for franchisees/agents so they’re able to leverage opportunities to increase earned media in their markets.
  • Develop training programs to train and educate agents and brokers
  • Management of internal media ambassador program and maintenance of media lists

Requirements:

  • Marketing/Communications degree, diploma or equivalent work experience.
  • 3+ year experience in a public relations role
  • Exemplary writing and verbal skills.
  • Excellent communicator and creative thinker, with an ability to use both data and intuition to inform decisions.
  • Superior organizational skills
