The Energy Asset Management (EAM) Contracts, Leasing and Data team is looking for an experienced and highly motivated contractor. Reporting to the Group Lead of Contracts/Acquisitions & Divestitures (A&D), the successful candidate will be an important part of the team that provides land contract and A&D support services to our business partners. Highly developed land/contract analytical skills and the ability to successfully manage multiple priorities are key success factors in this role. Our ideal candidate will be able to deal with confidential information appropriately and in a professional manner. You will also be an effective team player with strong organizational skills.

Work Environment: This is a 14 month contract position located in Calgary, AB

Responsibilities:

  • Work as part of a team to support the delivery of mineral and surface contract/A&D services to our business partners
  • Respond to stakeholder queries, perform due diligence, prepare chains of title and implement curative measures
  • Document preparation
  • Ensure internal process /guidelines / templates are current and maintained
  • Maintain continuous improvement mindset and participate in process improvements as required to support our evolving Energy Asset Management service delivery model
  • Initiate and problem solve complex issues through collaboration to get best decisions
  • Develop and maintain rapport with industry peers, internal and external stakeholders
  • Execute responsibilities according to Our Cenovus commitments including working safely and operating in a way that maintains and enhances our reputation

Qualifications:

  • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in mineral contract administration and/or mineral land A&D; ideal candidate will also possess surface land knowledge as it relates to A&D
  • Petroleum Land/Contract Administration Certificate or Energy Asset Management diploma
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite
  • LandRite proficiency
  • Member of CAPLA and/or CAPL
