We have an immediate opening for a Branch Associate at Canadian Energy in our St. John’s location. The Branch Associate position is a multi-faceted role combining inside sales, warehouse and delivery responsibilities.

Responsibilities:
Customer Service. Provide an exceptional experience to our customers in person on the front counter, by telephone and during deliveries. Contact customers by phone to share information and opportunities including pre-selling of scheduled delivery routes. Improve value for the customer by offering new products and services or by consolidating their purchases.
Warehouse. Assist in all aspects of warehouse duties including shipping/receiving, labelling of product, preparation of shipping documentation, general cleanup/maintenance and inventory counts.
Equipment. Operate power and manual lift equipment (forklifts, electric carts, electric pallet jack, hand truck, pallet jack, pallet wrapper and push carts. Notify management of any concerns or issues with equipment.
Deliveries. Drive company truck or automobile to deliver products and/or pick up scrap or returned merchandise. Inform management of any concerns or issues that may affect the efficiency of a delivery route. Be proactive in searching for scrap and other business opportunities.
Knowledge and Learning. Maintain a clean driver’s license and immediately notify management of any change in its status. Maintain current forklift certification, WHMIS and Dangerous Goods certificates. Continue to learn and expand knowledge base and familiarity of product lines.
Collaborate. Regularly communicate with Company leadership on best practices and procedures, customer concerns and new opportunities.
Communicate. Be proactive when in doubt or if presented with a challenge or a problem. Speak up, ask for input, help, advice, and feedback from coworkers or Company leadership.
In the process, you will be expected and required to comply with and enforce all Company policies, procedures and directives, promote our Company culture, and cultivate an atmosphere of co-operation, teamwork and customer service with your coworkers. You will report to the Branch Manager in St. John’s .

What we are looking for:

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • A clean Class 5 driver’s license.
  • WHMIS and Dangerous Goods certification, as well as forklift experience an asset.
  • Physically fit with the ability to consistently lift 70-plus pounds.
  • A self-driven work ethic along with the ability to set and achieve goals without constant supervision.
  • A willingness to learn and continually expand your horizons.
  • Excellent organizational, communication and problem-solving skills.
  • The ability to travel throughout the Alberta province.
  • Experience in the automotive industry an asset.
  • The ability to pass a background check and provide a driver’s abstract.
