The Psychologist is responsible for the provision of clinical services for clients referred for psychology services. This includes consultation, evaluation, assessment, diagnoses, interventions, monitoring of progress/outcomes and discharge with individuals, families and/or groups.
The caseload consists of clients whom are self-referred, referred by a physician, third-party payer or public agency to our interdisciplinary practice in New Minas two days per week. Two additional days of general psychology practice are being offered through an affiliated private mental health practice.
Qualifications (minimum required)

Formal Education:
Masters, doctoral or equivalent graduate degree in psychology from an institution approved by the Nova Scotia Board of Examiners in Psychology

Extensive education, training and supervision in psychology practice (Nova Scotia Psychologists Act, 2000)

Current registration with the Nova Scotia Board of Examiners in Psychology required.

Membership with the Association of Psychologists of Nova Scotia (APNS) is encouraged.

Maintenance of individual professional liability/malpractice insurance is required.
Applied Experience

Relevant clinical practice experience required

Clinical experience in the assessment and provision of appropriate psychological intervention with a variety of conditions

. Additional Skills and Abilities:
Ability to work both autonomously, as well as part of an interdisciplinary health care team.

Efficiency and responsiveness in provision of required clinical documentation.

Demonstrated work ethic, reliability, maturity and flexibility.
