This position on the Manitoba management team calls for a multi-skilled professional who has already demonstrated initiative and discretion in a complex environment. As the Executive Assistant to the Senior Managing Director, your primary objective will be to plan, organize and manage meetings, correspondence, travel and other business and administrative activities and documentation for the SMD’s office, and to ensure incoming information and inquiries are addressed quickly and effectively. This position may also be called upon to provide advice and support to the regional management and administrative team(s) pertaining to operational and administrative activities.

The Executive Assistant will be required to coordinate and manage projects including strategic initiatives, special projects and research. You will frequently gather, analyze and summarize information and data in spreadsheet and report form. You will also arrange and organize large meetings and events. Demonstrated success in this role is contingent on your ability to maintain confidentiality and treat sensitive information appropriately.

Qualifications

You possess:
Relevant post secondary education as well as related working experience

Either a working knowledge of CBC’s organizational structure, corporate policies and procedures, or the demonstrated ability to acquire organizational knowledge quickly

Superior computer and technical literacy: both MS Windows and Apple operating systems, the Google ecosystem (Mail, Calendar, Groups, etc.), MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio, etc) and other relevant systems and software

Strong expertise and working knowledge of various social media tools and ways to maximize their use to enhance CBC’s brand

Demonstrated critical thinking ability to analyze, understand and resolve problems

Excellent communications skills, both verbal and written. Outstanding ability to draft many types of messaging and reports is an essential requirement

Great initiative and the ability to put in place administrative, planning and organizational procedures for the office

The capability and confidence to work effectively with all levels of management, inside and outside the Corporation

Sound judgement and ability to manage a multitude of priorities and deadlines with rigorous attention to detail

Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize and work independently

Professional tact and diplomacy. This position requires the ability to comprehend and act on complex, confidential and sensitive matters

Superior organizational, interpersonal and public relations skills
